Growing In Faith

Our baptism calls us to help to build up the body of Christ in our homes, our parish, and within the wider community. How do we start?

Faith Formation

St. Mary's offers many ways for believers of all ages to grow in faith: religious education classes for children; preparation for the sacraments-baptism, confirmation, eucharist for adults (RCIA); first penance and first eucharist for children; confirmation for young people; marriage preparation and preparation for infant baptism; ministry to the sick.

Stewardship

Even an hour of your time can serve the people of God. Whether your interest is social outreach (for example, our Sunday Soup Kitchen), sharing your faith with others (catechists or classroom aide), enriching our community's worship life (choir, minister of the altar), there is sure to be a ministry that fits your talent and your time. Of course, your financial support of the parish is another way of expressing your faith-filled response to God's goodness.

Evangelization

Through our shared life of faith and prayer, as well as Whole Parish Learning weekends, monthly youth retreats, bible courses, book discussion groups and other faith sharing opportunities we all get the firm footing we need to share the good news of the gospel in our homes, our workplaces and our community.

Sacraments

Baptism
Baptisms are held on the second Sunday of each month at 1:30 pm in English; the third Sunday of the month at 1:30 p.m. in English and Spanish (bilingual); and the fourth Sunday of each month at 1:30 pm in Spanish. Please call the parish office for interview and class times.

Eucharist
Please call the parish office to register your child for sacrament preparation classes. Parental participation is required.

Reconciliation
Confessions every Saturday, 3:30 pm. Parishwide penance services in Advent and Lent. First Penance offered each Spring.

Sacrament of the Sick
Please call the parish office if you wish a visit at home or in the hospital.

Marriage
Please call the parish office 1 year in advance to begin marriage preparation period.

Confirmation
Please call Deborah Connors to register your child for sacrament preparation classes. This program is for young people beginning 8th and 9th grades in the fall of 2010.
